Little bit of a rant here. Maybe some of you have done business with these folks before and can give some advice. I believe, but I'm not positive that the company used to go by Americas Best Trailers.

A few months ago bought one of their trailers (Escape XL) 2nd hand from a good friend of mine. He was the first and only owner and purchased the trailer directly from the company in 2011. The trailer is in excellent shape aside from the chrome coupler and hub caps being oxidized and a little rusted, and the diamond plate needing a little polishing. I couldn't find a coupler that bolted right up or the hubcaps on line so I called the company directly. The first time I ordered just the hubcaps and they charged my card and I revived them in a few days. No issues there. After not being able to locate a coupler I called them again and spoke with the owner Danny, and he cut me a good deal on a replacement chrome coupler with a swivel added in for $175 shipped to my door. After about a week and a half I hadn't received my parts so I shot him a email. Shortly there after I received JUST the chrome coupler. In the mean time I come to discover that they had charged me twice on my card for the purchase. ($175 x 2). I then called again and spoke with someone other than the owner and they assured me it was a clerical error and I would be refunded that day and she would check on the status of my swivel and call me back. Never got a call back, and my card was never refunded. I called again spoke with yet another person who stated that they would take care if it that day and call me back. Again no call back. Called again the next day and no answer so I left a message. This time I got a call back and was told again, that the problem would be fixed and the owner Danny would call me. Once again I have not received a call. I called again yesterday and spoke with ANOTHER person who I explained the problem to and he didn't have answers for me as he admitted it was his "first day" working there. He assured me he would call Danny directly and I would get a call back. Yeah, well that hasn't happened yet and to date I've paid $350 for a ***damn chrome coupler. I'm getting really pissed and can't understand how anyone could operate a company like this. It takes all of two minutes to refund me my $175. I also can't imagine it's that freaking difficult to box up my swivel and send it out. I'm about to call my bank and file a formal complaint, followed by the BBB. This guy doesn't seem to get that all I want to be happy is my order to be competed and the overcharge to be retuned and I'll disappear, never to be heard from again. Had he rectified this situation by now I also wouldn't be on this forum bashing his customer service. Any thoughts? Suggestions on how to proceed??

Regarding the card I would file a dispute with the CC company as it can easily be explained as a duplicate charge.
I had it happen to me and just take it out of the hands of the merchant.
My understanding is a merchant does not want the CC company calling them to explain a double charge.
Im my case I was refunded in less than 24 hours by going to the CC directly.

Chris.. always causing problems! LOL

as stated, I'd call the CC and get the double charge taken care of first. Then call the guy back and tell him your CC company is taking care of the "double-dip" and you don't want to have to call them back to have them take care of the charge for product you haven't received.

Just got off the phone with the bank. Money will be back in my account in less than 12 hours. Even with the return of the duplicate charge, I still paid $175 for a coupler. I still have hope that I'll get a surprise in the mail and my swivel will show up...guess we'll see. Its aggravating cause I never received on single email from this company for my original purchase of the hubcaps or the one after, even though they stated I would receive a receipt via email, as well as shipping confirmation. Really shady operation IMHO. Beware.

You know it Todd! Yeesh man, I can't catch a freaking break. Bank said I can call back and file a dispute for the original $175 charge as well if they don't "complete" my order. I'm going to wait on that and see if I can't get this resolved with them. ALL I WANT IS MY DAMN SWIVEL! I wasn't trying to get a free coupler from these people! As you know Todd, I'm too damn trusting sometimes and believe in giving people a chance...we'll see if I get burned here.

Your CC company can also help with the original charge as you did not receive the merchandise for which you paid for... give 'em a call back and they'll call the merchant. Likely scenario is you keep the merchandise, you get refunded the amount. That's common unless the merchant fixes the issue.
