Fuel pump or Regulator issue?
Easy fix, keep lots of gas in tank. (no not really but was a band aid) on a recent trip I stopped for lunch with a half a tank of gas. When I went to start if bike (in an upright position) the bike
started to sputter like it was running out gas? When I started the bike while it was on the side stand, it ran fine but as soon as I straighten up the bike it started to sputter again?
Fortunately, I was close to gas pumps and filled the tank and the bike ran fine, I made in home by filling up with gas every 50 or 60 miles... a few times during the ride home the bile would start to sputter like it was running out of gas but fortunately again it only lasted a few minutes then the bike ran fine and I made it home?
Appreciate nay suggestions as to what this may be..thank you, Glen Alan Slobodian (GAS)
You definitely have a pin hole or a leak in one of the convoluted fuel lines inside your tank. When youre at about half a tank or so with the bike off. Open the fuel cap and look inside with a flash light and at the same time turn your ignition and run/stop switch on to prime the fuel pump. Mist bubbles swirling fuel hissing sound etc. that would be a leak in the system.
