Another lovely dealership experience....read on
A good friend of mine had the 15k service done at Arrowhead HD here in Peoria AZ while he had a new set of tires put on. After about a hundred miles he was getting some strange noises from his transmission. He checked his oils and didn't get anything on the transmission dipstick, in fact it was bone dry. The drain plug was in but that's it. He asked me to have a look and the first thing I did was pull the derby cover as well as inspect it for unusual leakage. The fluid amount in the derby was right where it should have been. It took a full quart to get the appropriate reading on the dipstick. No signs of any oil on the underside of the bike.
It sounded fine when we started it up and it ran down the road with no issues we could hear with the naked ear. Needless to say, my bud is going to be doing his own oil changes from now on.
I guess the moral to the story is "Trust, but verify" if your having a service done at a dealership.

I hate the dealer nearest me and had a good experience with Arrowhead for tires a few years ago...but confidence was down when they did the brake switch recall and didn't properly bleed the brakes ( I think they skipped the digital technician step)...I did a U turn in the parking lot and took it back to the desk and asked that a 2nd tech perform my work.
Jeez i really hope I never need anything beyond my capabilities
although the dealers are great with charging 'retail" price, i think they must pay peanuts judging by the age of the techs and the "retro rat" ( flat black rattle can and wrapped pipes) sporties some of them ride.
I think most of them are from the MMA school. short on experience

About 2 wks ago I was in the middle of wrapping up a 30 tooth pulley swap and noticed my rear tire was cupping pretty bad. I had the stock wheel and tire in the shop so I had the wife take it and my other wheel by our dealer to have the new tire swapped over to the wheel I'm currently running, and just leave the stock wheel and cupped tire unmounted. To my shock she came back with a bill for $103. Really!!!!! Then to make matters worse they screwed up the chrome on my Profile Laced wheels. The chrome is flaked off around every spoke. Wasn't like that when she left with it. Haven't had an opportunity to get back by there with the wheel but I did call and give em the what for. And dealers wonder why people don't bring their bikes in for service.
2010 Limited with some stuff
Me, I've got too many trust issues to ever let them do anything to my bike.

15k service doesn't get either a primary or transmission fluid change (primary's at 10k, transmission's at 20k). The dipstick on the right side of the bike is for the transmission, the derby cover you took off on the left side of the bike is for the primary, and the two fluid reservoirs aren't connected.
Something is very much not right about this story.
