Nope, don't plug it.... I picked up a screw in my brand new rear Metz, and had to order a new tire, now that really sucked!

Not to change directions to much but I am using "Ride On" in my tires. If I had a puncture I might not even notice it (based on the videos).

If I pulled a screw out of a tire with Ride On in it should it be replaced?

I've plugged a nail hole in a Metzler 880 and rode it until it was time for a new one, 2000+ miles; never had a problem. I've lost count of how many car tires I've plugged over the years; never had a problem with any of those either.

I'd have it plugged and patched from the inside and ride on. Provided it was a round puncture, not any kind of slice, and it was in the meat of the tread away from the sidewall, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The problem is finding someone who isn't afraid to do it. Most shops find it easier to just avoid controversy and refuse, and as a bonus they get to sell a new tire.

Thanks for the info as I forgot I had the ESP.

Some of you people are to **** about your bike. Plug the tire as long as its on the riding surface and you will be just fine.
They do make a patch called a "patch plug" but you will have to tear down the tire.

I didnt read all of the posts but dont listen to the naysayers.....YES! You can plug an MC tire and run it without incident. I know because Ive done it. Lots of times and for lots of miles. Anyone who says different is just drinking the dealer coolaid. Period.

lets wait for someone to chime in who suffered a blow out while riding on a properly plugged tire....

mushroom plugs are the best

On a side note I had a dealer once tell me not to run different brand tires front and rear due to the differences in rubber composition. Hahahahaha. I cant tell you how many of the Harleys currently in my garage have mismatched tires.

Dont buy into the hype
