I get a little on the top of my helmet, but what bothers me most is the flow coming from below. It vibrates my full face.

Have found that as long as I hold my knees against the gas tank the problem is solved. Open the knees to cool off or stretch it comes back.

If you wear a vest, that "Jack Flaps" thing might help but I have never tried it.

After a whole of lot of time invested in this, (different windshields shapes and sizes, seats etc.), the thing that really made for a very smooth ride was lower fairings. I live in TX and it gets pretty hot down here in the Summers, and I don't take them off. I just open or close the vent and that does it for me. Whatever additonal heat they generate, and I'm sure there is some, it just doesn't seem to bother me, is worth it when you see what eliminating the updraft and wind against the legs and knees does for your ride. I never paid much attention or cared about this topic till I bought the touring bike. With this one, a nice wind pocket is important to me. I can ride with a 7" windshield comfortably with lowers.

Hey Road Glide guys...I've read stuff on here about getting buffeting on stock RG's. Is it coming from over the top of the shield? When I sat on one at the stealer it appeared to be perfect (the top was just below my eye line). It looked to me that wind could come in from the bottom of the fairing where the forks are and cause this.
Stock shield was my best ride, I tried all the others, cc baileys 12', harley 9" clearview 9' w/recurve, all of these had major wind buffeting.

I run the stock shield, no issues. I did try the 9 inch version, very kool around town but on the highyway I might as well been on an open bike.

Your gonna get buffeting, having had an EG, RG's are just a little different, but still buffet. I solved 90 percent going with a 13 inch clearview AND the vent, I can tell the vent helps by filling in with smoother air behind the screen, preventing air from below (I havethe 2000 EGfork air dam thingy), above and sides. lose the vent, more buffetting. See pics here, I'm 6'1", mustang seat, note how top of screen hits me about chin height, no buffetting to speak of. Airflow starts to hit the top 1 inch of my helmet as pictured above about 55 mph.
