What would lead you to believe that 5w oil and Intiminators would cause fork seals to leak? I run RaceTech .090kg springs, Intiminators & 5w oil on my 39mm Super Glide forks. Fork seals leak for a variety of reasons; torn or otherwise compromised, just plain old and worn out or scratches in the fork tube in the swept area. All that said, I don't know it all, but what weight oil in the fork legs shouldn't have any effect on fork seal leakage.
Just old school thinking. Lighter oil finds the weak spot in the seal sooner.
Im glad to hear your good report. Taking the front end apart isnt much fun.
I'm thinking the intiminators should work just the same on standard or lowered. And I read in their FAQ's that there is about a half inch gain which would be great. I don't really need the lower kit but it's in there.

Old school thinking should have you thinking that the most likely scenario is seals getting damaged during re-assembly.
