Default new front wheel

I just bought a nice spoked front rim for my 06 ultra. Came off an 07 ultra with a profile styled rim. Its a true HD hub and wheel.

Its not centered, the rotors are within a thin spacer from perfect, but the tire itself is about 1/4" offset from centered.

My question is this, is it normal, or do I need to make it dead nuts?

BTW the brembo rotors hit, so that didnt work. LOL

oh and i flipped the wheel to where the tire is now going the wrong way, and its better, but not perfect. this is where the 1/4" comes into play.

Buelers not here and class is out for the summer. Sorry.

But, are you running the wheel backwards ?

This doesn't seem like a good idea since they are directional.

06 and 07 front wheels should be the same. Maybe a small difference in the width of the hub. You could shim your caliper if you need to center the rotors. Was the old wheel perfectly centered?

You can see an offset now that I look at it, so I have to swap tire direction, But even at that its a lil off centered. Not bad, but Im gonna run it that way. A lil is better than a whole bunch.

I honestly didn't know there was an offset on the hub. Learned something today..

Got it all taken care of. Bike rides truer than it ever has. I had to add a .040 thousands shim on the left side of the front end. The wheel is offset to the right a shade, but it ride way better.

Im a happy camper.
