Default B+ Connector...How much can it handle?

Can't seem to find any information on how much the B+Connector under the seat can handle.

I think it's just a direct link to the battery, so I guess it's only limitation would be the wire size for the load?

I don't think it's fused, but for safety reasons, maybe it is?

Reason I ask is that I've already got a Wards Fans hooked to it, and I want to add the hot wire from a Mini Beast Horn. The Mini Beast has an inline 25 amp fuse, so I know it draws some power.

Any electricians out there?

on my 09 wiring diagram, the B+ is after the 40 amp maxi fuse.
I don't know which year you have, you should confirm with diagram from service manual for your year

if same;

to simplify wiring connect your mini beast to the battery- using a fuse and relay

for your wards fan- you should have a fuse inline-
if not, if the fan motor shorts or the wiring chafes it'll burn for quite awhile before the 40 amp maxifuse blows

any wiring changes you do should be documented and kept with your factory wiring diagrams.

Hey Mike,

Thanks, I've got a 12' so they should be the same. The Fan and the Mini Beast both have their own inline fuses. I was just thinking that rather than hook all that stuff to the battery, I would just "daisy chain" the B+ connector. Harley makes a part to do that 70270-04.

Good to know that the B+ connector is downstream of the 40 amp fuse.

Thanks for the help!
