I check out the Rushmore thread for specifics..the touring thread for more general, applies to all, information. I like the split, I can get more info specific to my bike without having to weed thru everything..

Already spoke my opinion in post #2 but I've seen quite a few posts stating there is no rushmore cork sniffing. Well, I've perused all and read most of the threads in the rushmore section. That's right, I went from the first thread and reviewed every single thread posted. Some I exited, many I read to completion. I can say confidently that there was a pretty significant rushmore cork sniffing attitude early on. It has gotten better, to the point where is almost doesn't exist anymore.

My vote goes to combining, heck, I spend most of my time here anyway. It's just inconvenient to have to occasionally go and check the rushmore section.

My recommendation to the mods. Combine the forums, create a few stickies specific to the rushmore. Infotainment for example.

We are all brothers, let's not divide.

I am new to HD and this forum. I looked at both before I bought my 2012. I see bike specifics (street glide shocks, seats etc) vs issues with the electra glides or RK. However they are all in the same section and the nice thing I can choose which thread to read.

I would vote for moving the rushmores over to the touring, lets bring the HD family back together, so we can all bash those that bash them and have a really good bash!

Dew me, I'm with you. These are all HD toring models, should we have a seperate
section for TC 88's, 96's & 103's ? We all enjoy reading, learning and hopefully helping
fellow riders. This just seems IMHO to create a devide in the touring family.

I'm guessing a lot of the 'cork sniffing' as Bohacker put it (LOL) was meant to be good natured ribbing. But the guys who are truly 'holier than thou' are a vocal minority... fuggem.

There are enough differences that it makes it helpful to consolidate the Rushmore specific material. I think this is all it comes down to. Do you want to read about hydraulic clutches, water leaks in the cooling system, the new fairing, the radically different head unit and audio system, . . . .? If so, then take a look at the Rushmore posts.

The only hatred I have seen is from pre-14 owners coming in and referring to those of us who decided to upgrade as "wallet bikers" and other various comments.

The biggest differences between the 14's and the earlier bikes are mostly in the Limited. Between the wet heads and the electronics there's a substantial difference.

I think most of the 'vile' comments and 'hatred' are intended as 'ribbing'. I've made a couple of comments on the 'Fugly' myself, but never meant it in a mean-spirited way. If any 'Fugly' owners out there took them that way, then get over your insecurity!! LOL!
