Another question for y'all. Those who were running 2-1-2 and switched to true duals, did you feel any power loss?

I alreday have stage one with cat removed. Wondering if I would have to pay up for another dyno tune up.

Here is a link showing heat reduction using Rush True Duals with full inside and out ceramic coating. At 1:00 and 5:00 Chris shows the temps on the dual headers.

A laser heat thermometer is NOT accurate on shiny surfaces. You need a direct contact thermocouple or infrared camera. Not saying there is no reduction in heat, but I'd like to see someone grab that heat shield and hold it for three to five seconds. Then I'd believe it's below 140 degrees.

They can reflect and give false readings but I can verify these temps are similar to our testing. We tested directly on the head pipe. On the head pipe we saw over 300 degree reductions measured on the first bend off the front cylinder.

I'd still have to see the engine running at idle, no fan, check the cylinder head temp and then drab a fist full of heat shield down by the transmission. Just call me Thomas. If it passed that test I'd have to get a set.

I had Drago/Rush true duals and now S&S Power tune duals. The big diference for me was getting the rear cylinder exhaust under the bike and away from my left thigh. That made a huge difference. My left thigh was being cooked on hot days with the ceramic coated Drago/Rush headers. So I think the model/layout of the exhaust can be critical in heat reduction.

Well got mine back, installed, ran it for a few minutes with smoke coming off the pipes, turned it off and inspected the pipe to find that it was cracking off in a few spots...so back to the coater it will go.

I did run it and do some thermal testing with my temp gun. Sitting at idle for just a couple of minutes I was getting high temps of 450 and above at the bends and close to the head. There was no airflow to speak of as I didnt have the fan on, but I could tell no difference with what they coated mine with.

You are not talking about Rush or Jackpot correct? They are the only two that coat inside and out as best I can find.

It is a Jackpot header, but it was not the coated one from FM. I had this one coated locally. I am going to the coater in a little while to discuss it with him.
