With a plug in the cig lighter, will the plug hit your tank of you turn your bars full left? Just wondering because I use to have a cig plug for a radar detector that would do that. Had to search for a cig plug that didn't stick out so much. Don't use the cig plug anymore as everything is internally wired.

Mine clears by about an 1/8", but it clears.....Garmin 755 if I remember correctly.

I've got just barely enough clearance. I don't always leave it on the bike so I like the flexibility of using the plug...I just use a velcro strap on the handlebar to keep the wire tidy. I've seen the low profile USB plugs and they seem to work fine too.
