This is the only way to go. I frequently leave my stuff unlocked on the bike, never had anything stolen, but I always consider the surroundings and the people when I do. If I'm concerned about it, I use a Helmet Keeper...or whatever they call the thing that looks like a carabineer with a lock... It's pretty lightweight, but I think someone stealing a helmet is probably taking advantage of opportunity...

Not certain I'd get on the interweb and complain about an unlocked helmet that got stolen, cuz that was my risk when I left it unlocked... But I sympathize, I don't like thieves either, and I should be able to leave anything where I want it and expect it to be there when I returned...

Since then, I've gone to total lock-down when I'm going into one of those places. It sure would be fun to catch one of those guys some time...
Next time as soon as you go into the store, wait about 15 seconds and then come back out. You will probably catch them. `Hope you have your piece and CCW handy, though.

Good luck stealing my sunglasses, they're prescription and my eyes are really bad. A person with normal eyesight would probably puke as soon as they look through them.
Or get a cheap drunk?

If I was local, not that big a deal, but what happens when your 50, 100 miles from home and a ride?
I've haven't had a helmet lifted yet my runaround helmet looks like sh-t it set on the mirror but the two good helmets I lock them up.
Turn the ball cap around like the old days and ride on

True. Years ago no one even thought about f**king with someones ride.

Sad fact is that today someone will steal a freakin' rock if you put one out in the yard. They do it just for giggles.

I took a ball bat to a guy trying to steal my dad's stuff in an open garage, I was like 11 or 12 at the time. Sent him screaming down the road.

Thats why I don't leave my helmet with my bike. When I think of over the years all the things I have had stolen - a new 10, 000 lb deck over trailer that had the chains securing it cut, ect. I really hate thieves.
