You will probably kick yourself when you find it. I used to hate troubleshooting the 70s Ford trucks. It was always a ground problem that didn't even seem related to the lights.

I have been told there is a motherboard of sorts back behind the bulb to go bad. I'm not sure the trikes have one or not. just sayin... Fred

If there is, my suggestion is not relevant then. I've not had to look into the wiring on mine.

Yeah, there is a pin connector which runs to a circuit board assembly. I haven't found anything yet, but I have become suspicious that the circuit board is the culprit. Since I last posted, I have disconnected, cleaned and reattached every ground connection that I have found. I even had an "ahaaa!" moment when I found the ground strap in the trunk loose. Nope, that wasn't it either. My biggest problem is I know just enough about DC electric circuits to know that I don't know enough about DC electric circuits. I'm beginning to think that a visit to the dealer service department is in my future.

Hooray!!! I finally found it! I just finished putting my rebuilt reverse motor and today I had some time so I put the trike body back on. As luck would have it, I trapped a wire under the body and I had to take it off again. Just pure luck, I caught a glimmer from a bare wire and upon further inspection, I found this. The wire harness had fallen out of the holders that mount it to the outside front of the trunk. One wire was severed and another was chafed almost all of the way through. We spliced the wires back together, soldered them, taped everything and put it back in the clips. Good as new.

If you are getting a correct light on the trailer, but not the Tri light something between the connector and the bulb. Could be a bad ground or wire, or even a bad bulb socket.
If you have an isolator for the trailer that the Tri light comes off of it could be that also.
#1 thing is make sure of the signal from where you have it and just follow it. But it does sound like a ground problem.
The readings should show the same for both sides, so if there is a question. At the bulb the brake and the turn use the same filament .
If you don't have a wiring diagram, go to the HD site and register your serial# then go look for the manuals. They have a diagram for the 2012 there.
