Hello! My namn is Johan and im from Sweden and bought my first bike last year and its a 2017 low rider s. Im about to do my first oilchange before the summer and found this in the primary drain plug and made me abit worried. Ive read some post and people say its normal with metal on the drainplug but is this what they mean or should i be worried about something breaking up? The bike has around 6500miles
Clean off the stuff and post a close up picture of it.
Mine at 50K alway has some small fuzz on it but nothing big.
Is that the first oil change?
Could be a factor that the junk was in there when they built it.
Looks like small needle bearings. Doesn't Harley's new version of their compensator have a needle bearings thrust face washer?
PS...make your second new post over in the new member area. Just in case..

Just in case you have not done this.
Add a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike year, model, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with so others see at the bottom of all your post. This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question.
And an Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post.
Your all set.... Enjoy the ride! ______________

This is the 5th oil change i belive from the service book but dont know how many times the changed the primary fluid. Does this look expensive? I will take it to the dealer asap but can i inspect it by myself? Have to look for a manual. Thanks for the hospitality
Usually, when people pull the primary cover, they are going to see little problem until they pull compensator and clutch with chain and look at it all.
Takes a few big tools.
If you're not an experienced mechanic, I would leave it to the pro.
This is not the job to learn on.
With that low a milage, primary and transmission could have original oil.
If it were mine, it would be getting it's second engine oil change

Like Ripsaw said, that's a bit extreme. Pop the inspection cover and check the belt tension.
It's ferrous metal so it's not from the inner or outer primary covers, might be from the sprockets.
Good luck.
If you are mechanically capable, and it’s not very complicated, I pull the entire outer primary cover, Toni so the. But, if you don’t know what you are looking for it might not be worthwhile. So, you might want to take to a competent mechanic. Looks like possibly part of the adjuster bracket. I can’t think of anything else that is ferrous and would be that shape.
" and might attempt to do it and cheak if i can see something. I never had any dissonant noises from the bike only one time when my friend sat on the bike and wanted to start it i dont know what he did but the starter made a very bad sound almost metallic. Can it be something from that? I will inform you when i find the cause.
Looks to be a piece of metal from your starting ring gear a chipped edge from a kick-back or the starter gear hitting the ring gear just right. You can remove the primary cover and look at the starter gear & ring gear to see if you can see the area where the chip came from.
Me? I would just put new fluid in there and ride it and listen to see if anything further changes in noise etc. A bottle of Formula+ is not that expensive so I would run it 500 or so miles, drain and check the magnet again. If there was no further metal chips like in your picture, I would ride on.
