New guy from Michigan
Hello all,
Name is Moose (Brent). I am here for the community knowledge and to make some new friends along the way. My user name has a very special meaning to me. The Moose part is obvious. However the JAS48 is short for James 4:8 from the Bible. That verse says:
James 4:8New King James Version (NKJV)
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
I have been a on top of the world and lost it all due to Pride and thinking I did not need God.
I know this is not for everyone, but I want to be able to tell my story. So bare with me as I explain how a man like me can be humbled by a real God.
12 years ago I found myself after being on top of the world with 2 new Harley's 2 new cars and a great home..... Homeless with one pair of jeans and 2 shirts. (Wont bore you with all the details). Pride had driven a wedge between myself and God. Fast forward to 2 years ago. My wife and I found out we were having a baby boy. I knew that I needed to make a change and start my path back to God so that I could raise my son the right way. I have had a great career for many years but never did I think to spend money on another Harley, even though it was always my hearts desire. I simply could not justify spending the money on a motorcycle with a wife and a new baby. I have always been a barter kind of guy, love to barter on Craigslist and I found myself able to start with a laptop and a old speaker.... all the way to my hearts desire. I was able to barter for a 1997 Road King. She shows her age but she is beautiful to me as I know it is a gift to me from God. He was faithful to me as I was to him, he allowed me to have my hearts desire.
OK enough of the mushy stuff. I am here and look forward to building some great friendships. Please just keep in mind I am a Christian man and serve a real God. If you want to know more I am always down for a great talk about God.
