Thanks, yeah the bike has super low mileage so I'd be surprised if there was an issue, but who knows. Its an 09 Softail Custom. And the wheel was shaking slightly.. not moving back and forth a lot but you could certainly tell it was getting the shakes
Touring series rubber mounted bikes shake a lot when they are ideling and get real smooth the faster you go.
Softtails and Dynas are counterbalanced. The are supposed to be smooth at idle, the the vibrations pick up a bit at high speed.
You are quite correct about the rubber mounted touring series bikes. However, while the Softails are counterbalanced, Dynas are not. They are rubber mounted while the counterbalanced Twin Cam Softails are directly mounted to the frame.
My 2010 Fatboy shakes a bit at idle, but the wheel stays put like a locomotive wheel. The mirrors don't move and the engine almost looks as though it were not running. If it shook any less, it would be disappointing...though I enjoy the smoothness.
