Default Intro and first service help

My name is Ryan, I live in SC. After riding for several years and owning a few bikes, I purchased my first Harley last month. I got a 2012 Dyna Wide Glide with the 103. I have yet to make my first payment, but crossed my 1,000 mile mark last night. First service seems easy enough as I have been working on cars and trucks since 13 and picked up a little bike knowledge over the years. This however is my first Harley to own and do my own work on. I just want to make sure I do all my fluids properly. I have 5 qts of mobil 1 20w50 syn, I ride year round so I dont plan to cheap out on product, but dont want to pay someone to do what I am capable of. My question is having to do with the trans and oil plugs. I am sure they can be drained at the same time, but do I fill seperatly. It seems the fluid is the same and shares a pan, but I could be wrong and if so please correct me. Just looking for a few tips to do my first fluid exchanges. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. To answer your question dyna's have 3 separate oil reservoirs: primary, trans and engine oil tank. You drain and fill each one separately. Should be primary 1 quart, tranny 1 quart, engine oil 2.5-3 quarts. Hope this helps

Welcome from Florida, I agree with what HDmedic33 says, also you should buy the service manual, it's worth it's weight in gold, comes in very handy.

I have the 2012 dyna manual if you need anything scanned out of it let me know
welcome to the forum.

I have never had anybody fix anything on any of my rides but I did the service at the dealer. felt *** raped when I left.

Jamman did his service in the parking lot at autozone 65 bux all synthetic that is what I'm doing next time
felt like if there was a real problem being new and all I wanted it their face not in a story from me.

nothing but regret for that now.
keep your money spend it on beer or gas or a new leather jacket. **** give it to the homeless.
don't waste it at the dealer
