So I've been having a ft wheel issue for a while now that's left me wheel less
I have a 2003 softail with a fatboy ft end
I have a 2002 roadking wheel with 1 inch bearings
Has anybody used or tryed unsuccessfully to use a touring wheel on the ft of a fat boy? I know I gotta change over to 3/4 bearings
And I know the rotor fits
Thanks in advance for any help or advice
If you can a machine shop with a Bridgeport milling machine, you might be able to have hub milled down to the correct size. You will need to accurately measure the hub width and the space between the forks. It is my understanding the FL front fork on the softail is a little narrower than the FL fork on the touring bikes.
Front touring wheel will work, machine shop will need to cut .200" off the rotor side face of the hub, ($40). Cut a couple of new spacers, done. Upgraded mine to the 18" wheel from a 2013 FLHX.
My cousin put a set of 2006 Ultra wheels on a 2003 Heritage with zero problems. I had to widen the fender just a bit to help fix a minor rub, otherwise nothing to it.
do you have a finished picture on the bike? also was there any issues with right side fender clearance? I mounted a spoked roadking wheel on my fatboy and the wheel is really close to the right side of the fender.
