Just aheads up. There have been many post from others that loved the sound of the street canons with the cat in but hated the way they sounded after removing the cat.

No you don't have to do a stage 1 download unless you change the AC also.

Yep - I have street cannons (for now) and have tried both with and without the cat - they get a bit louder but at the same time............sounds like pooh without the cat.

I'm another of those that HAD Street Cannons with and without a catted head pipe. Yes, they got louder without the cat, which was fine, but they sounded awful without the cat. I agree, a tune would be in order with that setup change.

For the ones who have tried with and without the CAT, is there truly a noticeable change in the amount of heat on the right leg?
I know its been commented on a lot but answers seem to be all over the place.

I put V&H Dresser Duals on my 14 UC and yes it reduced the heat.

I would not change the exhaust without adjusting the tune.

And IMHO, the "download" is a waste of money.

Get a tuner.

Did the download, the air cleaner and got rid of the cat

Download and ac made nice difference. Did not waste money on a tuner.

Getting rid of the cat made a huge difference in heat.

I have not drank the tuner koolaid yet as the bike performs wonderfully. Maybe someday but have not seen a difference between mine and my friends bike that did do the tuner

For me, yes, there was a noticeable difference in reduction of heat without the cat.
