On the road now on a trip so I cant do extensive Internet research I changed my battery recently and had to pull the main fuse to silence the security alarm. on the trip yesterday I noticed my push to talk button doesnt work I know the microphone is working because I can make a phone call and I can hear others talking on the CB I just cant activate the button to talk back. on the main home screen when I push the button the little CB icon doesnt light up could it have something to do with me pulling the main fuse or is it just coincidence that the button crapped out at the same time I pullled the fuse. I should note that I have had the switches switched so my PTT is on the left side now I tried the other side cruise control working everything working just that one button any thoughts Ill be checking my phone later thanks in advance
That is really strange. I would double check all your settings. If all is correct then the switch is probably bad. I cannot imagine that the programming could have been affected.
If you put the radio in diagnostics mode, there's a routine in those menus that will test you switch functions to verify if they activate/change state when pressed. If you do that test it'll tell you if it's a bad switch or not.
Diagnostics mode: With IGN off, depress & hold the radio Power/Mute switch, turn IGN switch to ACCY, wait until after disclaimer screen comes up & goes away, then release the Power/mute switch. The radio should then be in the diagnostics.mode.
Thanks Hammz, I got it into diagnostic mode but unfortunately the only things that got any kind of indication with the two joysticks left and right and the outer part of to two of the large buttons, cant remember which ones, couldnt get any indication at all from either the CB button or the push to talk button so its looking like that diagnostics is not working on my bike. I dont want to mess too much with it because I am away from home I dont want to screw something up maybe when I get home on Tuesday Ill try system reset or maybe pull the main fuse and see what happens again worst case Ill take it to the dealer I replaced those switches they are both the lighted switchepacks so I dont think the dealer will cover them under the ESP, I put them in myself Ill go talk to them and see what happens thanks again for your help. Kinda sucks being on a group ride and not being able to use the CB.

Sorry it didn't provide you with any information. I knew the testing menu was in there, but I haven't looked at it in a couple years. Had hoped it would be of some assistance. Ride safe. Use hand signals & pow wow at your gas stops.

Thank you, 2 of us rode home earlier than the group and we got home safe, he didn't have a headset so we were on equal ground. I tried yesterday to re-install the boom software (version 120.3) that I've been using, no change. I have the lighted switchpacks installed and still have the original non-lighted ones, I wonder if I can put one non-lighted side (the left/PTT side) on and if it will work, that would tell me if it was in fact the button. I don't know if everything will work with one lighted and one non-lighted switchpack installed, I would think it would as the actual commands should be stored in the computer and the switches only relay it to the proper wires. And to compound the issue I have had the PTT and CC buttons switched, again I'm thinking the actual commands should be stored in the computer and it SHOULD work. Lots of "shoulds" here, LOL. Any thoughts?
