The above Dyno was done with a de-catted headpipe. It's also a '15 running the Boyesen Power X. It just doesn't have a stage 2. I'm not sure there is a downside to a de-catted factory headpipe. Cheaper, for sure, and most like would run cooler. You should do pretty good with those pipes as well. I really like those.
Thanks...I looked at the sheet you posted, but I didn't look at it till you just said decat pipe. I'm all about saving $$$. I had called Durwood a couple days ago when I was still on the fence about keeping my M8 and he stated that most of the 2-1-2 headpipes out weren't any better than the decat. Now, I don't know if that was in regards to the M8 setup or in general. I'm actually pretty excited to be getting back to a twinkie.
As far as the Boyesen power X intake, I spoke with Boyesen yesterday, and the part number I gave you is wrong. Apparently the one that fits our bikes, isn’t even listed on their site yet. Nor can you buy it anywhere else. The correct part number is as follow: PX-HBP-02(b for black)
Anyway, I ordered one....
I'm a big fan and believer regarding Fullsac products for both Twin cam and the M8's. Best Bang for the buck with Proven Preformance! I have had both the Fullsac "B" X-pipe and the latest "D" X-pipe for my Rig.
With that said, I have been running A Drago's Dracula II 2-1 pipe with 2.55" baffles for about a year now on my Built 117" Stage IV Pro Race Motor. Rush does make Frank's stuff but to his specks and IIRC the baffles are different.
As mentioned, double coated ceramic inside and out makes a Hugh difference. As for sound of the Dragos II, ( any pipe is so subjective) mellow at cruise and great Bark when climbing the rpm hill.
All I've done to my '15 Limited was to install S&S lifters, S&S "Quickie" adjustable push rods and Rockout rocker shaft anti-rotation shims. All I wanted to do was silence the noisy valve train and get those POS Mexican-made lifters out of it ASAP. It has plenty of power for me, so no performance mods. No doubt the folks who have done performance mods can give you plenty of good advice on that front.
I also installed a Baker Attitude Adjuster manual primary chain tensioner to prevent the OEM tensioner from over-tightening the chain - which it HAD DONE when I pulled it and dumped it in the trash where it belonged.
IMO, you did the smart thing getting away from that M8 bike, FWIW.
