I do have one minor issue with the radio. When you turn the bike on, the radio boots and only the rear speakers work. I need to go to the fader and move it slightly for the front speakers to come on. It does this, I'd say, 3 times out of 5. I did upgrade the firmware on the radio to 1.17.1.1 .
2014 Limited same issues cracking and popping on AM FM stations not on I pod.
Dealer says MoCo knows about issues and is looking for a fix. Love the new bike and ride is great. Had a lifter issue(" lazy Lifter") and they replaced all 4 lifters and push rods.. SOOO while they were in there I had them put in a T-Man 555 Torquester cam.
Wow! what a great cam V&H Power duals,V&H High Out Put slip-ons,SE Chisel free flow Air K&N filter. Dyno numbers 100 HP 118+Torque Pulls thru 6200 RPM
Just waiting for radio fix Oh Vivid Black of course... Love the 2014 water head 1,550 Miles so far.
Did you guys really think the new Touchscreen / bluetooth / Gps unit would be trouble free considering the last radio (Harman Kardon) that Harley used for 7 years was never perfected and always had issues, requiring replacement or to be sent to Iron Cross...?
All you guys that are having automatic volume issues do you see that there is a setting in audio controls for it? You have to scroll down after fader and its there. You can set the amount of volume you want it to add. 1 to 4 bars. Also the guys with problems where you have to reset your things like fader control and things it seems like the radio doesnt save some of your settings when you turn the bike off. I have it that I change my motorcycle icon on the gps map to the streetglide instead of the blue triangle and when I turn the bike off the next time its back to the blue triangle. Hopefully software updates will take care of this. not a big deal, just would be nice.
The guys that are having volume issues for different things you can set the volume in the setup for all the different things that it does like gps directions, music of course, ring tones for when your phone rings. Or you can set the volume when these come up. The other day my phone rang and the music cut out and I had dead air. I looked down and saw I had a call coming in so I hit the volume button up until I heard the ring tones and then it was set now. First time I was running a gps route the music cut off and I had dead air till I turned up the volume and now I can hear the gps directions. You have to be fast and do it while she is talking. Same with all other volume controls.
Question for you all...is the auto volume control "volume" relative to the volume you have the head unit set at? What I mean by this is, lets say you have the volume up high (3/4 or above) for highway speeds, then you come to a stop and the level drops down. Should the stopped level always be the same low volume regardless of what the actual level is set at?
The AVC on my 13 was great, getting weird results on my 14 after the software update.
Thanks
I'm thinking that you set your volume level right before you start out from a stop. The avl will increase it as you go faster so you can hear it. Then as you slow down it should decrease the volume so its not blareing at you when you stop. If you are at speed and need more volume you turn it up, and now as you slow or stop it will decrease the volume, but will be alittle louder because you had turned it up alittle at speed. There is a setting in audio that you can set on how much volume you want it to add as you increase speed. 1 to 4 bars.
Am I the only one that is receiving crappy FM reception on the 6.5 system? I took it to the dealer today. After checking the software version, which I already updated, they said they were going to order me a new head unit. They also said mine was the third they were having to replace.
Wow you must have one hell of a dealer. I'm surprised they just swap them out without trying to figure them out, or try a software update.
my auto volume does not work and it does like my wife's i-phone better then my commando the other day it froze only the volume would work , time to destination miles to destination did not change for 1/2 an hour shut it off and restarted and it all started working again and when on blue tooth it would only play zz-top on my wife's phone
Had the same thing till I figured it out. Once you turn the bike on and it pairs up with the phone go into bluetooth settings and have the check on shuffle. (mine had shuffle turned off) Also to note that I had to change the presets button to seek (in bluetooth). That way it would go to the next song. When set to presets it would go to the next preset on the FM radio. Couldnt figure out why it would jump out of bluetooth phone music.
