+1 automatic volume up/down not working.
Got 1k service done today. Service guy say's you didn't have volume turned up enough.
REALLY...... turned it down when I pulled in to be polite. Hopefully some dealer has identified this as a REAL safety Problem, I like to here squealing tires behind me at intersections.
While riding today I noticed the Satellite is only playing the preview channel and my presets are now gone that I had saved. I've only had the bike 1 week. I thought the free XM was for a couple of months?
I tried to update my ultra today and followed the harley site to a t, I plug the usb in and it read it , but nothing happen. I have been getting a popping or krackle every couple of minutes any ideas or help . I called Harley and they don't seem to have a clue... -Tom
I have the popping and krackle too. It is addressed on several sites. Called Harley. They told my I was the only one reporting this. Taking it to the dealer today for a second attempt to fix. Customer service 1-800-258-2464. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Just thought i would share, I was able to update my limited with a thumb drive via mac.
Step 1= right click on download from HD site
Step 2 = click save file as "swdl_boombox_6.5GT.zip"
step 3 = save to desktop
step 4= once it is downloaded it will be in a .zip format now double click on the zipped file
step 5= it will now be converted to a .iso drag and drop the entire .iso into your thumb drive
step 6= insert into bike = success
Hope this helps , it worked for me. By the way when I called Harley direct they said it would not work on a MAC

I have the same problem...let my dealer know and was told they don't have anyone that can work on it yet....

My 2014 SG also has the periodic popping and crackle in the stereo. HD dealer tells me it is just speaker distortion. It only does it if the bike is running and you don't even have to have it turned up loud. They recommend upgrading the speakers. I do not believe that is the problem. I will try calling the customer service number and see if I can get some better answers.
My AVC was not working, i seen this thread and did the update. The update did not fix the AVC. A few days ago i had the boom speakers and amp installed which required the dealer to do a download for the amp. When i got the bike back the AVC now works but i have some weird things going on with playlists. I have my phone, s4, plugged into the usb port, when i choose playlist on the radio it gives me this really weird list that is not playlists. The playlists worked fine before the speaker and amp install. Ill give the dealer a call tomorrow to see if they can fix it.
Question for you all...is the auto volume control "volume" relative to the volume you have the head unit set at? What I mean by this is, lets say you have the volume up high (3/4 or above) for highway speeds, then you come to a stop and the level drops down. Should the stopped level always be the same low volume regardless of what the actual level is set at?
The AVC on my 13 was great, getting weird results on my 14 after the software update.
Am I the only one that is receiving crappy FM reception on the 6.5 system? I took it to the dealer today. After checking the software version, which I already updated, they said they were going to order me a new head unit. They also said mine was the third they were having to replace.
