2014 Electra Glide Ultra Limited, i.e. "Premium" radio, 6.5"
I applied the 17.1.1 update just fine. I had one problem (see below) before applying it, and, so far, none with it.
It fixed one thing that I noticed: the "Export for Update" feature, to send your 'bike's secret navigation serial number(s) and status to a USB drive, didn't work correctly before the update. It reported a failure, although it DID write the data to the USB key. Now it reports success. In both cases, the data seems to be the same.
But there's a problem with the nav updating. When I connect my USB drive to my PC, running the Naviextras toolbox, it recognizes it, tells me that there's an important update, and writes it to the USB key. It's a roughly 14MB file called swdl.iso. The 'bike recognizes the file as an update, but fails to authenticate it with a "NavNoContent" message.
It's early days for this new device, so I expect some glitches.
One annoying thing: the nav database on the 'bike is a Q2 2012 version. Naviextras wants to update it to Q4 2012, for well over $100. You think that Harley would give you an activation code to update to the most current database, especially when you're buying the 'bike on the day it's released!

Out riding today with no radio issues. Bluetooth from my phone with music works great. Stopped the music and went enroute with the gps to a harley dealer without the radio and had no issues also. Got home with 86 degress out shut off the bike in garage got off of it and both fans kicked on for about 30 seconds then shut off. Pretty cool hearing it. I tried to download the new software to the radio, put it on a flash stick, followed the instructions and all I get is a prompt saying no music? Also bought the pager 2 followed the instructions and thats a no go too. Frustrated now, will try again tomorrow?

When you get the "no music" prompt, accept that, wait a short while, and it'll see the firmware update, which should be a large (roughly 800MB) .iso file on the root of your USB drive. The USB drive should be at least 8GB in size (no idea why) and be formatted as FAT32, or maybe FAT if FAT32 doesn't work.
For the pager, you have to have the siren installed. I moved mine from my RG to the EG. It fits into an obvious slot under the lefthand side cover. My old pager works fine with it, and didn't even have to be paired again.

The directions don't mention it, but you have to unzip/extract the download to the USB stick. Just copying the .zip file won't work. At least, that's what worked for me.
Thanks guys, that definitely helps. Did'nt know about the siren and I did'nt unzip that file. I'm still riding on a cloud with the new Limited. Awesome bike! Thanks again.
I made sure the USB flash drive was wiped clean, I downloaded the update and saved it to my desktop, I dragged and dropped it onto the flash drive and I ejected the flash drive.
I turned the bike on to Accessory, plugged in the USB and it said ni media found.
I also tried to unzip the file and drag all of its contents onto the USB and that didn't work eirher?

And Im using a MAC...
Any advice?
.
The file has to be unzipped to the thumb drive. On a PC, you can right click on it and select extract all files and choose the USB drive when prompted. Not sure about a MAC.
