Default Yea

I guess I'll give it a chance. I just don't see a need for it in my life.
We don't even lock our house...ever! I survived 7 other Harley's without it, but now I need it. Ok I will get with the technology .

Nice feature but also didn't have it on my last Harley I had for over 20 years. I haven't set mine either. Just never made it a priority plus I like not having to mess with the system when I trailer the bike. I generally like to believe most people don't mess with biker's rides since they know the riders will not take it lightly.

Set your pin and keep the card in the bike, you'll be fine!

Seems silly to disable something like security, it's there just let it do it's thing.

Oh and you won't have to dig for the key to lock the ignition every time you park the bike to run in somewhere quickly.

As others have stated, set your PIN, it is a 5 digit, and no zeros, .....or a ZIP code with no zeros, I wouldn't use the one you currently live in, but maybe the one you grew up in.
I like the zip code pin idea!

I felt EXACTLY the same way when I bought my '15 Limited.

So far, so good, though. It also looks like other folks are having no problems with theirs, either.

You can be dead-certain that if there WAS a problem with this, it'd be plastered all over this forum!!

For now, I've stopped worrying about it.

Just for fun, every week or so leave your fob 50 feet away and start the bike
using the pin. That will take all the worry out of losing a fob or fob battery fail.
(Then go get the fob)

Every time I do this, I am reminded of the difficulty in kick starting the old bikes.
Prime the carb, choke, spark advance, pre-kick, real kick, turn on the gas, turn
on the key, rinse and repeat. I always thought that if you could not kick start it
you should not ride right now. Now if you cannot start your bike with a lost or dead
fob, well you should not ride right now.

Edit: this thread is old. never mind.

Do not expect a lot from any security system. Locking the fork is still the first
thing to do when parked. If the fork is not locked your bike can be loaded onto
a trailer in about 10 seconds, with lights flashing and alarm sounding.

It's legal to turn off the ABS if you want to, some bikes have a switch to do this. It IS illegal to disable or modify any emission controls or systems, 'course a lot of folks ignore that one, anyway.
