I have the Slipstreamer in a 2" on my 2018 Sport Glide. I'm 6'1" with a tall boy seat and the 12" isn't doing it for me. Did the 16" make a big difference for you going from the 13" ? Is there a lot of flex on the 16" at speed? I'm considering either going to a 16" from Slipstreamer or purchasing the detachable similar to what I used to have on my dyna Low Rider. The only one I found for the Sport Glide is made my Memphis Shades. https://memphisshades.com/collection...13477154259010
Only problem I see with the Memphis Shades is that it appears the hardware stays on the forks so if I want to sometimes go back to the bat wing it would mean pulling out the tools. My dyna had the Harley detachable that had hardware that stayed with the windshield when you took it off. Thanks

Going from the 13 to the 16 was definetly an improvement but I'm thinking that I probably should have went with an 18 inch because I'm still getting some buffeting at the top of my helmet. But I am also 6'4 so I'm 3 inches taller than you. I didn't have an issue with flexing but you'll also notice I had some taller bars put on my bike, so they help support the windshield. The dealer put the bars on as part of the deal when I bought the bike. I think they are 10 inch bars.

I've had mine about a month now and am loving it. I like the ability to throw some gear on it and take off for a few days. Is it ideal for the long ride - no, but it's close enough. I've spent all day in the saddle with minimal butt ache as compared to my Corbin seat on my old K bike that was good for 2 hrs before numbness set in. I upgraded to the 5" windscreen which is fine for a day ride, but I'm looking for something to move the air off my head for the long rides. As to the throttle issue, I've notice it to be a bit sensitive but not extreme. I just figured it was a learning curve going from a cable to electronic throttle. The bags hold more than you imagine and it's nice to leave them at home when I don't need them.

I'm 8,500 miles in (with stage 2). Around 5,000 miles my gas tank cap started rattling. Anyone else experiencing this? I've worked with it to stop the rattling but suspect this is going to be an ongoing battle every 4,000 miles or so.

Picked up my 2019 FLSB on NYE. It's the first new vehicle I've ever owned. I'm happy with the deal I got. Nothing crazy but well under MSRP and got $100 less on my trade (XG500) than I paid for it. It's a good feeling. No buyers remorse. I chose this bike for the upgraded standard features and I wanted the softail tech. I still want to be in the wind. This bike gives me a similar, but better feeling than my XG with a gauntlet fairing. Rode to work for the first time today and had no head bobble at 80. I test rode the Heritage and loved the handling but thought my eyeballs were going to vibrate out of my head. I know there's a fix but I still wanted to try the Sport Glide. Glad I did. Obviously, compared to the XG it's FAF, lol, and I haven't even let her rip due to break in. Only disappointment so far is when I took the seat off to remove the passenger pillion, haha. Oh well. I was trying to negotiate a 20% day of purchase parts discount, but the guy wouldn't budge and offered me a $300 gift card instead. All I really wanted was heated grips so that worked out well . The biggest adjustment so far has been the forward controls. After the grips I think I want to add floorboards. Loved those on the Heritage. Anyway, this thread, and hearing what owners thought of the bike played a big role in my decision making so thanks to everyone who's contributed. I'm glad I can finally do the same. Cheers.

I ended up making it into a mini road glide.
I actually traded in a 15 RG for a 18 Sport Glide back in August.
I first enjoyed the more back to basic thing but I began to miss the wind protection (much of my ride is on freeways...) of a full fairing, especially after riding touring bikes for the last 10 years. But I REALLY was enjoying the lightness of the sport glide. So I decided to put a real fairing on it. I didn’t wanna go with batwing (way too many out there! Lol). Then I came across Wedge Fairing Which was exactly what I was looking for.
I also adapted the hard lowers that I kept when sold the RG. I had to trim a little bit to make it fit in the softail engine guard. But I think it turned out to be OK looking.
I have also shaved the stock seat padding aa little to move me lower and further back.
This set up (wedge fairing and factory hats lowers) actually gives me even better wind protection than the real road glide. No air coming up around the tank.
I’m very happy with how it turned out.
Now I can leave it alone and just enjoy riding it!! (That’s only till the “mod bug” bites me again.....lol)

modification (so far)
wedge fairing (Bluetooth controller, amp and speakers installed)
decatted stock muffler
factoty engine guard
highway pegs
Harley hard lowers
handlebar swap
modified stock seat
sissybar
