After doing 1K service yesterday and going for a short test ride, Girl (who followed me) mentioned she didn't think the back end provided enough visibility. We looked at this area specifically. There's a red reflector between the license plate light and the plate, but it doesn't light up. Now thinking about LED upgrade...
On my Fat Bob, there is a central reflector that doesn't light up, and then the taillights are combination taillight/brake light/turn signals. With the stock incandescent 1156 light bulbs, they're pathetic really. It sounds like your Sport Glide has the same setup.
I converted to Custom Dynamics LED replacements, and they are drastically brighter. I mean, seriously much brighter. In fact I'm upgrading to their ProBeam lights, those are seriously bright, so if you want a good deal on a set of 4 Custom Dynamics Ringz lights, let me know. Or just get 'em new, but either way -- the LEDs are a tremendous upgrade and I think a big boost in safety.
Interesting, that plate frame looks very similar to the EU one I installed on my 19 fat boy (which I had for less then two months). It also only had two sigs as RBT. I bought this:

Like someone mentioned I think the only difference in the new model year is more color choices. I went to the dealership wanting black but they had a different bike in midnight blue. If they would've had a SpG in that color I probably would've bought it. I thought that color looked awesome.
the tail combination lights on Sport Glide are LEDs. (The front ones are not LEDs)
I believe the midnight blue is one of the colors they offer on Sport Glide as well!
I didnt know Bung King made different styles. I have one of the old style from them, only the low bar... They make great stuff. I have a set of their risers on my FXR.
Question about the low bar, is that in a spot that is comfortable to use as a highway peg?
I added Hyperlites for rear visibility. Had them on a Beemer years ago and they were great. Still great, but he doesn't make the wires long enough to reach from the back to the wiring under the seat, so if your arrangement calls for that, you'll be doing some splicing in awkward locations under the fender.
The rears are LED's already, but it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to those Custom Dynamics or similar. Anyone know of any plug and play ones that would work with the SG?
I added CD lightbar in the back that makes my bike look like a cylon. It also flashes like 10 time when you hit the brake
It should be attached to this response (first time posting video)
I think the stock rear LEDs are plenty bright already but I replaced the front with CD LEDs which makes huge difference.

Reason: added stuff
I put floorboards (and heel shifter) off of a FatBoy.
Straight bolt on. It was a bitch to replace the brake pedal (exhaust gets in the way....)
I know it deviates from sporty nature of a sport glide, but it sure is comfortable.
and I think it looks much nicer than any of the aftermarket options....
Board and heel shifter installed. Brake side. It actually gave me better clearance behind the touring hard lower. Nice surprise. They are moved out a bit using DK customs floorboard spacers. More comfortable than without the spacers.
