according to my dealer, a/m Slip-Ons will not void my warranty. Only things that will modify the ecm, and are traceable, would great a problem. Ymmv.
My advice... Take what your dealer says with a grain of salt and read the warranty. Read it with the understanding that it's a direct contract between HD (not your dealer) and you.
My check engine light came on when I started up on my 50 mile ride back home this afternoon, noticed it would not go out after a little bit. Pulled over after about a mile and stopped, engine sounded perfect was running perfect idling perfect, etc. Stopped engine, got off bike and checked oil, exactly where it is every time I check it. Oil cooler was nice and warm. Checked the tranny oil this morning, perfect as has been every time I check it. Started it up again, engine lite stayed on with engine sounding perfect. Bike is all stock with a dealer installed SE Torque Cam and re flashed with SE Tuner. Road home the rest of the 50 mile trip home. Engine still sounding and running perfect. Checked oil at home where it always is, oil cooler nice and hot. All indications are that everything is AOK, just the check engine light stays on.

Checked the codes and came up with UO141h.
Any hints out there????????????
From a thread on the Rushmore touring forum, that code is for lost communication with left switch group module.
Interesting, I'll go out and see if I can come up with something.
Just remembered that at my 1,000 mile service, the Dealer installed HD heated grips, might be an issue there however they worked great on the way home as did they earlier this morning when it was in the hi 40'sF, love my heated grips.

The heated grips don’t plug into switch control module only power routed under the tank. I’m thinking of having them installed on mine, got used to them on my Limited on my old claws
The heated grips are worth their weight in Gold on the cool days in the cooler morning.
Just remembered something. Pulled into the dealership one day when I had about 3 or 4 hundred miles on the brand new bike, before the heated grip install and 1K mile service. With the lights and motor still on, noticed the front running lights were not on and I could not get them to turn on, also the running lite indicator lite on the speedo would not turn on. They pulled the bike right into the shop to investigate and said a wire was shorted out, covered it with electrical tape......I think and seemingly fixed it, everything started working perfectly. Just remembered that a minute ago...., also on the left side.........HMMM.
Just went out to the garage again and checked all the lighting, horn, turn signals etc. Everything worked perfectly. Also my running lites will stay on when I switch to the Hi Beam on the Head Lite, I like that. They do turn off when I switch them off.
Started the motor and the engine lite still won't go out.

I rarely ride 2 up do took off the pillion pad. There is a plastic protector for the fender. Anyone remove this and if I ever do use the pad, will it cause scratches? I would likely put some underneath if I did use the pad.
My Heritage is the Red Denim and that shiny protective film was very noticeable so I removed it, it just peeled right off with a little bit of slow effort. I'll never have a passenger so I'm not concerned with having to use the pillion later. But if you do, maybe a piece of felt under the pillion would work.

I just took my pillion off the other day. I had a much harder time getting the protector off. It left a very thick layer of nasty glue behind. It took 15-20 minutes of wiping with paint reducer to clean it up. Auto body shops carry clear protective film in various thickness, should you ever want to replace it.
The pillion pad doesn't appear to have any sharp edges, so you just need to protect the paint from the leather rubbing dirt into the clearcoat. I would use a piece of leather on mine if I had the occasion to have a passenger. But I'd rather they got their own bike
