Yes I have gotten over 50 mpg a few times. But this last tank was about 46 mpg. I still can't figure out why on gas fill ups and the tank empty. Why you cannot put closer to 5 gal in the tank.

I didn't realize HD oil changes go that high. My first time buying a HD do I was convinced to buy the service for life for about $1500 extra when I bought mine. Sounds like it may pay off with those prices.

BTW, I will be retiring to Oahu in the future. I have a place in Hawaii Kai. Thinking whether it makes sense to ship my 2018 Heritage Classic there or buy used whenever that may be. I love the riding there, but not sure if I would get island bored after a while. Are there plenty of rides to keep interest up? I see lots of baggers, just dont see the need if no over nighters needed.
So we have a HOG group with almost 90 members. Im the only one with a 114 Heritage. in fact the only heritage. we make the weekend rides fun, go a different route all the time. and yes its a island and can only do it so many ways. But you can also take your bike to other islands for pretty cheap and ride there also. we have state rally's and stuff for that.

Got the Rineharts installed a couple days ago. She now sounds proper. MUCH better than the Street Cannons, which should be renamed Street Slingshots. I did have to adjust the front heat shield a little bit but no big deal at all.

Do you guys with the new M8 Heritage drag footboards with the new mono shock as easily as the TC cam model?
I have a 16 Heritage and was told the new M8 Heritage is less prone to dragging the footboards.
Thanks in advance.

H-D states the '18 Heritage has a 7% greater lean capability over prior year models, i.e. less prone to draging footboards!

I’ve scrapped a few times, mainly doing left or right hand turns. Normal riding, I think there is a low chance riding moderate twisties. Push it in the mountains, sure. But I don’t ride the Heritage 114 like a track bike.

i think a good rider on this bike could dust most street riders, who are riding a sport bike, in the twisties.

Default Discounts on 2018 Heritage

I'm considering a 2018 Heritage 114. Anyone get a decent discount? Care to share your deal?

Thanks in advance.

I’d be concerned if you were turning somewhere other than left or right

As for clearance, the ‘18 is pretty nimble. I ride canyons a lot and can be prettty spirited without issue. Still possible to scrape, but way better than it used to be.
