Bit the bullet, LP4s incoming.

Clear atm, but may add an amber.

Also considering changing the Short Shots for a stainless Bassani Road Rage

Made a 2-into-1 that still looks like a Fat Bob.

I probably have a few pics scattered throughout my phone, this was an on-and-off project over about 3 months. It ended up needing parts from 2 sport Glides, my Fat Bob, and an FXDR. The headpipe is a modified Sport Glide header, drilled out for 18mm sensors and cut and modified to change it to an upswept pipe. The upper heat shields are from my Fat Bob, the collector shield is a heavily modified Sport Glide shield, I had to cut it and change the angle for the upsweep and also lengthen the exit portion several inches, and then I had to replicate the rivets and rings that the Fat Bob heat shield has, and make it fit the muffler heat guard. The muffler is re-used from my Fat Bob, it's just one of the S&S Grand Nationals I already had, but it had to be modified to fit the larger exit port of the 2-1 collector from the Sport Glide. I have tuned this setup extensively with the Smart Tune Pro, and it does run well, but I'm not entirely sure this muffler is big enough for this purpose; seems like a 2-1 would need a bigger baffle or something, but I haven't found a different muffler that would be suitable yet, so I keep rolling with this one, and it does perform well and looks suitably badass. The exhaust bracket was the hardest part, I had to chop up a Sport Glide bracket and an FXDR bracket and have someone weld them together, and very few shops will weld aluminum. I ended up using 4 different welders during this process for different things, and the last part was I had to find a suitable coating that would withstand exhaust shield temperatures but also look like a Fat Bob. The color I found isn't an exact match, but it's plenty close.

The project took a while because I'd never done metalwork before. Didn't know what the hell I was doing, but I knew where I wanted to end up, so I quaffed endless hours of YouTube to teach myself about metalworking, shaping, tapping and cutting threads, the intricacies of an angle grinder, grinding, more shaping, machining, etc. Then when the first prototype came up way short because the muffler fit is different between the two bikes, I had to extend the heat shield which meant hideous weld scars, so I had to learn some bodywork techniques for smoothing out the transitions on the extended portions and angle-changed portions. Heck, I had to resurrect some of my 9th-grade geometry class to work out the angles, and fortunately I did already know a bit of 3D modeling as it took a bit of 3D scanning and modification of the resulting models to arrive at the prototypes, especially of the exhaust bracket and getting the pieces to fit exactly right. So, yeah, I took a few photos here and there, but I didn't extensively document the process.

About that seat, is the base made of plastic and the cover stapled on? I took the cover of of my stock seat and re-shaped it a bit with an electric bread knife, much better now, a sheap way to get better comfort.

It's a good idea, there's a local trimmer I'm going to try before I butcher it!

Turns out the seat cover on the Saddlemen solo is riveted on.

I’m going to attempt to remove it and trim the plastic base to fit at the tank. It literally needs 10mm removing.

Over the winter I’d like to get it recovered in Alcantara with a nice custom pattern and logo potentially.

Collecting a Trask Assault 2-1 tomorrow to replace the V&H short shots.

Hi,
When I drive on the highway I think my windshield is not the right size,
I notice a lot of wind around the helmet / head.
I have the 9 inch vented and I wondeing what I should do, take a 7 ore a 11 Inch.
We are not lucky enough here that we can test at a dealer.
I am about 6 feet (?)
Aslo,
I was wondering what kind of bag you can place between the steering and Shades faring,
I ordered a bag from Ali but I have sent it back,
I could only put my keys in it

Ron
