I have ridden in the rain and pushed it really hard on the twisties in hot and cold weather and I absolutely love them. Far better than the stock tire. With the stock tire the front wanted to push/ wash in the turn and I feel none of that w these they just stick and go. I have used every inch of them and they stick right to the edge. Also they were perfectly balanced mounted on my bst carbon wheels I have zero weights which I was supper happy about.only issue I have had is that they were very greasy from when they were new I almost wrecked twice in the first 3 miles becasuse they were like riding on ice. But after that good to go.
These are the radials with a high speed rating.
rear-180/55R18 74w
Front- 140/75R17 67v
Thanks for the response. So I can only assume because they are so sticky they don't last very long. Is that a safe bet? Just curious. I think I would rather sacrifice a bit of longevity for better grip.

Yes about 6-7k.
longevity is not my concern w tires its all about the grip/performance. If u are looking for longevity maybe the commander 2 or 3
There are only a hand full of parts (I thought) I wanted to buy for my new bike.
A LOT of stuff I can make myself. (body work, custom risers, etc)
Googled Carbon moto wheels and WOW! Found something fairly expensive I WANT!
LOTS of complete MORONS on BOOB TUBE! "CycleCruza" What a Jackass.
"carbon wheels are a waste of money" Then he weights them for a 6+ lb savings and on the ride says they turn in better/faster, accelerate faster etc???
What else is there besides the looks and cool factor.
"really expensive at 2 to 4K per set. ?? Hardly. What do some of the pricier custom Billet wheels go for?
Serious bicyclist' spend that much all day long on Bicycle wheels. Zipp Sub 9 rear disc wheel is 2100 for just the rear!
BST is the company and they have stayed in business for years. They make OEM Ducati carbon wheels so I would trust them on a cruiser.
Glad I didn't find my dream....6-spoke swept..... wheel.
I WANT!!!! Post more wheel pics!
JM
Here are a couple more a little closer. The wheels are awesome made a big diff in handling and I liked it before the swap.
That's not bad. Have only gotten about 8000 miles on the stock tires anyway so a couple thousand less miles isn't gonna be a big deal for me.
Thanks again. Sounds like I should jump on the deal before it's too late.
I had the Night Dragons for a while. Definitely great tires, but they don't last. I only got about 5,000 out of them. If you don't ride much, they make sense; I do 20k+ per year, and at $750 for tires and install, that's $3,000/yr for tires, and I found that excessive.
I went to the Avon Cobra Chromes, they claimed great longevity; at 6500 the rear had worn through.
Found a killer deal on the stock tires at Surdyke, and a new indie shop for installation. $400 installed, and my last set of stockers lasted 10,000 miles, so... That should get the tire budget down to $800 this year, much more reasonable.

Yeah the cheapest tire and install deal they have at the dealer is 495 out the door for shinkos installed. I will do the mounting myself and just have them balanced at the shop to save about half of the total price at the dealer. The cobras were over 700 bucks installed so yeah that's not gonna happen.
Have you tried Ride On? Supposed to balance automatically, plus prevent flats... don't know if that would be all you would need to balance, but it might be something to consider.

No I haven't tried it. Since they typically do it free or for a very minimal charge, I'll most likely just take the wheels to the dealer to be balanced real quick after mounting the tires.
My dealer charges $225.42 to install two tires and balance.
That's a little less but about the same as my dealer charges as well for the install only normally. I was told 1 hour for the front and 1.5 hours for the rear.
They have a deal right now that brings down the labor charges for install of Shinkos. I didn't ask which ones but I think they were the 777's based on the tread pattern I see in the pics of the 777's.
The tire deal they have going on now is if I buy a set of shinkos from them the cost of the tires, install of the new tires and balancing will be 495. If I get the night dragons I found and install myself, I will save 195 bucks over the dealers best deal on tires and install, and 400 bucks over the Avon Cobras installed by the dealer. And that was with a price match to the price for Cobras on Revzilla. I don't get the reduced labor charge deal with the Avon tires so it's almost double the cost for those tires installed.
They used to have a free install with purchase of a set of any tires for a while but I would think that's probably bad for business to keep a deal like that going on for very long.
