Question for those running the Vance & Hines Hi-Output slip-on mufflers.....has anyone had the opportunity to compare the supplied with the mufflers open baffles to the optional quiet(er) baffles? The quiet(er) baffles are on back order till the end of March/early April but I pulled the baffles that came with the mufflers and they have batting wrapped around the inner perforated pipe. Not sure how much of a difference the optional baffles will offer.
I'm curious - are the V&H slip-ons that loud? I saw some comparison videos (against stock) and, while they had a much deeper, throatier tone, they didn't seem to raise the decibel level by all that much.
It's not the loudness that I'm concerned with, it's the lack of back pressure. Switched from S&S Grand National Slip-on's to the V&H's units. Jamie at FuelMoto advised I would loose some torque due to the wide open 2" baffles. I have a set of TTI 118's on the way as the quiet baffles are on back order right now. I have not found an actual picture of the replacement baffle to see the difference.

I started my rebuilding today. I had 8 gloss black parts powder coated matte black (headlight nacelle, front fender brace, speedo housing, both side covers, outer air cleaner piece, pulley, belt guard). Bead blasted the chrome speedo ring and coated it with high quality matte clear....still drying. Oberon adjustable levers, different mirrors and radial Bridgestone Exedra Max tires. I have everything done but the left side lever/mirror, installing/aligning the rear wheel and re-assembling the speedo back together/installing the speedo housing. It's coming together.....

Sounds like it will look bad *** once back together! Post some pics when you can.
