Default Stage 1 to Stage 2?

20 LRS... Added V&H slip ons, had the dealer do a stage one tune and the bike goes like a scalded cat the way it is. Had a torque cam in my old Softail and it really hauled but trying to justify the cost of a stage 2 cam and looking for opinions.

I think a Stage II cam is totally worth it, however, do this test first. Try to use full throttle frequently in the rpm range where you like to ride (be safe). If you find your bike to be weak, then get a cam. Otherwise leave it alone.

My bike failed this test as Stage 1, passes as Stage II. Get a cam with a torque peak where you ride.

I agree with the other guys who previously posted. My experience with a stage 2 upgrade on my 2018 Lowrider is it was worth doing. My 107 M8 with stage 1 was ok but lacking on the lower end, which is what I expected. But when I installed the Wood 22X torque cam it really woke the bike up in the rpm range that I typically ride in. In fact I found myself riding quite a bit harder after I installed the cam. I don't like beating on my bike, but after I installed the cam I just couldn't help myself.

My advice, look aat the date code on the right hand down tube decal. Anything before June '19 has the old faulty oil pumps. They were revised 3-4 times since the M8 come out. Finally they designed a new better oil pump.
My stage II, I did the new oil pump out of pocket after fighting with HD over it

The Stage 1 upgrade is a must for all M8 bikes. But, I suggest you ride your bike for a while longer before doing the Stage 2. I waited to do the Stage 2 and determined that a suspension upgrade would improve the handling and comfort of the bike far more than a Stage 2 upgrade would. Good decision.

huh? suspension? Really? Stage 2 wakes that scoot up if done properly.
