Default Oh so much infomation here, but

I do have a couple of questions, please. Looked in my wallet and it appears the best setup for me would be ordering the PBR 300x2 and Infinity 62.11i. In my research I ran across a video where they had to cut and grind on the '14 fairing speaker enclosure, that big clear plastic piece, to get their speaker to fit. Those that have installed the Infinity 62.11 in one of the new fairings, do they fit without mod to the speaker enclosure? AND, with this setup what gage speaker wire is appropriate? I looked at one installation they were using monster cables for speaker wires, seemed like a little over kill.

Also, I've found amp mounting shelves for early model Street Glides but not for a '14, any suggestion?

any help would be really appriciated.

There is no need to modify the speaker pods.

16 gauge speaker wire is all you need for your set up.

I made my own amp mount, Lots of guys use industrial velcro.

DragonFly Cycle Concepts has the mounting brackets you need. I don't think Kevin has them on the website so you'll need to call him to order it.

if you mount the speakers internal to the pods you will need to grind down with a dremel, the screw mounts on the inside of the pods so the speaker will sit flush and seal and you get to keep your stock grills in place.

if you mount the speakers on the outside of the pods like the stock speakers are now you have to do nothing except fork out another $50 for Boom Audio grills.

as HD Doobie stated, 16ga is plenty. That whole monster cable, OFC vs CA, etc. is WAY overkill for these audio setups on bikes.

That hurts Nutz.
If the system is being driven at a high level for extended time the heavier Ga. wire will not hurt the sound reproduction on the higher powered amps and more efficient speakers that many of us use on our bikes, plus the difference in price is only like $5.00 so why not go with the higher quality cables, if for no other reason than peace of mind.
I'm not saying you are wrong but many people just seem to like going with what they are familiar with.

lol.. no hurt feelings intended bud. and yes I get the "familiar" thing and respect that. I mean if someone came to me and said "hey while you're putting everything together, please use monster cable for everything" then I would certainly do it. It's all about preference really.

I am a tool/die maker which automatically makes me OCD so I always tend to overdue things and usually go 1 Ga. up on wire sizes like 8Ga. power and ground instead of 10Ga. and 14Ga. speaker wire instead of 16Ga. this way any upgrades are covered.
That's why I started out with 62.11i speakers and now have 7.1's and 6.5 Titans, started with SS PN 4.520D and now have BT4180amp, and have all this new uninstalled equipment but Oh well it's only money.
