Default Jackpot find! (Mount inside speaker pod or not?)

I've been quietly hiding in the corner over there----->
researching, reading, and then more researching in hopes to understand the right path for myself with an audio system. When suddenly out of nowhere I stumble upon an arc 600.4 amp and xdi 602 speakers a guy is selling for $475 and the components are less than 7mos old. Location? An hour away. Cha-Ching. To spare all the nitty gritty details I picked up the amp for $400 and plan on buying a pair of moto 602's next week. Install should be 2nd week in August. I think I'm going to be tickled with the improvement over stock and should be within my budget. No plans at the current time to add any additional speakers but this amp won't handcuff me if/when I decide to later on down the road.

Here's a question though. Should I install these moto 602's in the fairing speaker pods or buy the metal bracket and mount them without using the speaker pods? Thoughts? As always any suggestions, comments or advice is appreciated.

From what I've research I've done and seen, it depends on what year your bike is wether you should buy the brackets.
But I am not most knowledgeable person on that but you may want to add what year and model they are going on.

Pete.

I’d get the brackets and eliminate the pods.

Those speakers pack a serious punch and have a GREAT low end. Those things hit hard and will need the air space. At a minimum you’ll be drilling some holes in those pods to get the better sound.

I am 99% certain the newest 602's will mount into the pods without modification. If it was me, I'd go that route. Saying that, I've never heard a Rushmore bike without the pods. In talking to Peter of Soundz Customz, he was of the belief the pods did more good than bad for the sound.
