Anybody using this and if so are you happy with controls and overall kit, and how disappointed are you that you lost the great visibility of the boom screen.also how are you dealing with water issues?
It's on my list of winter projects, however I won't be giving up nav as I only have the 4.3. I haven't found many who have installed it yet either. I'm tired of the months upon months of BT promising it will be soon, so I'll be ordering in October from Metra and I hope to find a good priced Aquatic AV unit.
Get a good marine sing'e din and bluetooth your navi on your phone to your stereo. That's what I do on my 2015 RG. Metra kit is in my immediate future if this magic box doesn't work like I hope.
I am not sure how magic box could work it was designed long ago and if new radio flash 19.1 and earlier has new dsp curves and volt out put levels , and no going back to earlier flash I have already researched that option, the good news is magic box guys offered to let me try it and if don't work send it back but I am not going this route.
Im in the process of installing it right now, i'll keep you updated on the kit.
Yes please do along with what complete setup is my big hold back is not being able to see or easily be able to use radio ,really like navigation but can use phone linked threw Bluetooth when needed usually know where I am going but it is great when looking for address within destination . Wish you the best of luck.
Hello, I finished the install. I used metes kit 99-9700, kenwood marine radio, and Polk DXi 6 1/2 speakers. I had to remove the factory speaker grills because the tweeters stuck out to far. This was all done on my 2015 Police Glide. So I had no wiring harness to use. I ran power to the Battery, negative to the ground and Acc to yellow/black wire in main harness. Total cost was $340 from crutchfield. Took about 4 hours total from start to finish. I dropped the ground wire but, so I spent some time searching for it lol.
Test ride was done on I 64 at 80mph. I had no problems hearing it and it was clear. I haven't had any problem with a CD skipping. My only problem was I don't have a FM antenna yet. No one has one in stock so it's on the way. Everything from the kit worked perfectly as stated in the instructions.
