I am finally catching up on all the threads about Biketronics and the flashes. I just picked up my RGS right before Sturgis and had the dealer install the amp/speakers. I have been both happy and disappointed with the unit. It seemed like it started off rocking and by the time I got back from Sturgis it was becoming more distorted at highway speed with some songs sounding okay, some sounding like crap and many in between.
I had the dealer flash the radio after I got back (not 100% sure they flashed it when it was installed). The flash helped with some of the bass problems, but the distortion is still there. I am now looking forward to trying the new flash, along with the other adjustments noted in the new flash procedures. I think I will try Option 2 and adjust the gain.
I look forward to learning more as I go here, but hopefully this will fix the problem.
With Bill and Gannicus's advice and assistance I just finished installing the BT 4180 & Pros up front with new Kickers in the rear pods (Bill included the new harness for running the rear pod speakers). Sound is dramatically improved and I have Bass/Treble and Fade working (stock 4.3 HU). Running at about 1/3 volume with the bass notched up about three bars and the treble zero bars and the fade one bar towards the rear the mid-range and treble are almost too much. If I crank the volume up a tad or shift more fade to the rear the Kickers start fuzzing up. I'm hesitant to do the flash for fear of losing the B/T/F control. Any thoughts?
I've been messing with this since Thursday when I installed my new system and I'm terribly disappointed in this flash mess! My 08 street glide I put new speakers in and it was ready to roll, I wish the new road glide was that simple. I'm running focal 165ac in the front and 570ac in the lids with a pioneer d1004 amp(we kinda just tried one out because it was at the shop and it fit) sounds incredible in the garage but going down the road at anything over 1/2 volume it's just a distorted mess. I really hope someone can figure out a real fix besides tuning the amp to 75% gain while the bike is running and just living with it
The dealer flashed mine this morning with Option 2. It sounds much clearer and no more distortion at higher volume. But, the bass definitely took a hit and is not as loud as it used to be.
Question: How do you adjust the gain on the Biketronics amp? I removed the fairing and do not see any ***** anywhere to do so that were referred to in the flash .PDF. My guess is, are they on the back side of the amp? If so, any easy way to get to them without removing the headlights and more?

Thanks.
No gain settings on the bt amp but u can adjust the pac-sni 35 converter i believe...what bin file did u get i had mine flashed this morning also i got 128_off bin. I have no bass or treble control. The bars move but they dont do anything. I had it flashed for option 2 and 2 speakers. It does not distort but it is way quieter so i need to go in and adjust my gains. I have pretty much no bass and it sucks i cannot adjust it especially since i has the bass turn all the way down before i had it flashed so i wonder if it is still all the way down and now its stuck there. I also did the pre cal reset and that didnt help
