Bargain Speaker System
I'd forward it to you but I don't have the links anymore bud.
I remember that thread now. I may go that route but I'm going to do some measuring this weekend. I'm thinking of making a pod for the windshield to hold two speakers. Quick connect for power and self contained. I don't always want or need tunes and don't always use the windshield.
What is a decent small amp to power two 4" speakers?

Bobby. is this something that's going to be left on the bike or are you wanting something just temporary for this trip and beach riding?
regardless this is actually a pretty decent sounding setup from Boss Audio. It's not going to win any crank it up competitions or sound quality judging but it sounds pretty good IMO and has been reliable on the 3 or 4 that I've installed over the past year or so.

Thanks for the link. I'm open to not being removable but the plan I have in my head would mount to the quick detach windshield. These small amps don't need a large gauge wire like a sub amp in a car do they?
the amp is small enough to put in a larger windshield bag, mount the 2 speakers on a bracket of sorts to 2 of the windshield to trim bolts, run you something like a trailer wiring harness with +12v and -12v under your tank and come out at the neck so you can tuck it away when not in use.
Easy stuff
