Are the 62.111 direct fit in the rear pods or do. You have to cut/modify the pods?
I have the hogtunes setup and the left speaker is distorted. It's just over a year old and was thinking of replacing the rears with Kappas.

Thanks

After reading these forums for days it seems I think now I am leaning to the Cerwin Vega B54 amp instead of the SS pn1000d.
It seems the B54 will fit without cutting the factory amp tray. Will it fit without an aftermarket amp tray? Can i velcro it to the factory HU?
I know nothing is plug and play, but i need a harness that keeps me from cutting into the factory harness. (17 Limited still under warranty) Any recommendations?
I think one BT line leveler will work is this correct?

Now for something that is confusing me.
The info on the CV B54 amp says4 ohms: 80 watts x 4 ch
2 ohms: 150 watts x 4 ch

I am only installing 4 speakers, 2 in the fairing and 2 in the rear pods for now.
The Infinity Kappa 62.11s are 2 ohm speakers which at 2 ohms on the amp should give me 150 watts RMS. The Kapppas RMS is rated at 150 watts.

The other speaker I am leaning to is the Polk Audio MM 652s
The Polks are 4 ohm speakers with an RMS rating of 100 watts which is more than the amps RMS rating at 4 ohms.

Would the Kappas be more efficient? Looking at the numbers would say so but real world differs from manufactures rating from what I have been reading.
With these two scenarios presented which should sound the best?
I know sound is in the ears for each individual but I am of the thinking that the more efficient a system is the cleaner it is and the cleaner it is the loudness will follow.
Am i over thinking this?

Get a solid 4 channel amp @ 4 ohm. Very limited selection of quality 2 Ohm speaks so plan accordingly from the onset.

Recommendation for a solid 4 channel budget friendly amp?

You're better off with the PN4.1000d and those speakers. You always want to have a more power from the amp than the speakers RMS. RMS is constant, music is dynamic. The extra power is "headroom", your amp won't be working at maximum capacity just to push those speakers. When that happens, amps overheat and cook.

I'm a little partial to this setup lol:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...e-for-now.html

This is my build and it came in at just under $700. Loudness and clarity is off the charts with that amp and the Kappas, but like everyone will tell you, the kappas don't like lots of bass. Mid-bass is decent from the coax's which works for me as I just wanted to be able to hear 'more' at freeway speeds. TBH if I had to do it all over i'd skip the component Kappa's and just run 4 x 62.11i's until I could save more for the stuff these dudes are running.

Trust these guys though, they know their stuff and won't steer you wrong. This is my first DIY audio upgrade and the info from this forum is invaluable.

I took the advise and bought a SS pn1000.d from a member here.
I also got a pair of PRV 6MB200.4 that came with the amp.
I was leaning towards kappas in the front fairing and tk pods but now have another set of speakers which I think are not coaxial so I would need tweets.
What should I do. Go with 4 kappas as planned or 2 kappas and the prv's with tweets?
I won't have the money for wet lowers for a while but in the future will be an option.

To install this amp in a stock 17 batwing I need to start getting all the installation pieces together.
To the guys who can do this blindfolded what do I need? I do not want to cut any wires, does someone make a plug to tap into the harness? Do i need line levelers? If so how many? Will speakers fit or do I need spacer rings? What gauge wire for power, ground, remote, speakers? What type of terminals etc.
I would like to make one list to pick up at my local audio store since I have a shop 2 miles away from my house
house.
I also need a detailed list of internet items such as recommended line levelers, spacers and such.
I know I am asking a lot of questions but I am getting excited.
Thanks guys

I want to thank everyone for the advise that was given. Today I installed the SS PN.1000D. I went ahead and installed the amp and wiring. I am using stock speakers for another week or so until mama releases more funds for speakers lol.
The advise given here was priceless as everything went smooth and trouble free. I expect the factory paper to disenigrate pretty quick with this amp, it sure did wake up the cheap factory speakers.
Once again thank you to everyone who helped me with this.
Once I install my speakers I will ask more questions as far as the filter settings on the switches. Thanks guys, the grunt work is over.
