First I wouldn't do anything until the lineleveler is in play. Once that is in line, tuning is easy with that amp. Set the hu flat (treble/bass) hp filter around 80-90 and volume at 3/4. You turn the gains up until you rear distortion then back it down a bit. Some suggest using a DVM and that is good but final tweaking has to be done by ear. Every amp and speaker is different so tuning is different on every setup. The gain may be at 1-2 oclock on some but 11-12 on others. The key is hearing distortion or any bad sound and back off the gain a tad

Ahhh gotcha. I had it at 80 going off of the specs of the speakers. I wanted to stay within the recommended frequency so that I don't throw huge distortion bursts at the speakers.

I always turn down my system before I shut it off so I don't cause that burst on startup. Just my rule of thumb.
Cruse I hope you have a better understanding of how to set the amp gains. My interpretation of your earlier posts says you were way deep in the weeds. Take your time with it. It's not rocket science but it will let out the magic smoke if you don't have a grasp on what you're doing. Also DO NOT use AVC.

Honestly, i've hooked up sound system after sound system in my cars. But i've been away from hooking up sounds for over 15 years. Being away so long I have forgotten alot about amps and such. Plus with technology advancing, and this being a motorcycle, I wanted to be as meticulous as possible. Would rather ask a **** ton of questions before pulling the trigger on anything and catching that magic smoke.

Don't be afraid to try lower freqs and possibly All Pass with those speakers. Ur gonna want some warmth to balance the highs, just keep a keen ear out for distortion as u tune.
