Hi T, this is something interesting, but I already look for this scenario and I did not save enough. total cost for the speakers only is 914$ can vs 998$ can (for the MLK 1650.3). Therefore, I am back to square one. Except that D put a new scenario in the equation with the MPK in the case where there is not much difference in SQ at highway speed between the MLK1650.3 and the MLK165.3 or the MPK165P.3 For me that is the question.
I don’t think that I have a dealer here in Montreal area. But I know they have a good reviews. My concern is that the impedance is 8 ohms. Did you think that they will match with the RF impedance? I am open to suggestion as long as I will get a good SQ with enough power.

Just to let you know that I order the mlk 1650.3. I had a good deal on it. I should receive it in 2 weeks. Now I have to find the way to fit the crossover in the RGS fairing. I wonder if they will fit on top of the head light once the casing is removed. The amp and the DSR1are already under the HU, so no place there.

Really nice man. Glad you found a good deal, that would be my whole 401K, lol

My current configuration is similar to what you’re describing, Fosgate - Hertz speaker combination. Twinn Fosgate T400xa4d’s. One under the hood and one in the trunk. (FYI, Fosgate doesn’t recommend mounting amplifiers under the tour pack)
I'm very curious about the Tour Pak install, I can see the amp is secured by a bracket at the top of the tour pak, is there anything holding it at the bottom? Or would there even need to be? Do those 6 screws in the cover, holding the cover to the amp? or are they just holding the expanded metal to the cover? I love a clean install, and this looks great!! Good Job!! I just bought a 2015 Ultra, and before I even get 'er home I'm investigating stereo upgrades.
Hell, you’re pretty observant. Yea, I did feel the need for at least one screw with a stand off towards the bottom of the Fosgate’s heat sink. A spacer with Velcro could be used as well. I mounted the heat sink about 1/2” off the back of the tour pack to improve air circulation. The cover has two 3/4” aluminum angles screwed to the sides with Velcro holding the cover to the tour pack liner. It’s never moved. You are correct. The six screws in front only hold the expanded metal (Home Depot $3.00 gutter guard) to the cover. In hind sight I think I should have hidden the screw heads under the trunk liner fabric but it still looks clean. Good luck with your project.
