I have a BT-355 LL connected to a SD400.4D 4 ohm amp bridged going through WDX6MOTO-G2 speakers in the front
I have the identical setup running the 2 tour pak speakers
When I follow the voltage chart to set my gain, the whole thing sounds terrible and heavy base causes clipping
I had to split the lines out of the BT355 to use all 4 inputs in the amp to even get the recommended 28V with 1Khz tone
I went down to 22 volts @ 1Khz tone and still it sounds bad
Looking for ideas or recommended way to set this up right
When I turn the amp gain to 1/4 from lowest setting, it starts to sound better but not very loud
is your crossover switch set on high pass? are the bass and treble on the head unit set at flat or no boost or cut? what volume setting are you at on the head unit?
you need to do some of this by ear,, not just with the volt meter, the speakers have a spec, but that doesn"t mean that they can take a full 200 watts at frequencies below 1khz. set your head unit up according to the sticky thread, make sure your high pass filter is set to HP, then try again, listening for distortion and sound quality.

IMHO running the SD amps that do not have crossover duals without a DSP or very capable HU is not a good idea. Especially when u get into the more aggressive sled audio sandbox.
Could I put the amps on full pass through
Then use a voltmeter to watch voltage drop when I dial the BT355 HPF dials using a 100 or 120 hz tone?
Therefor raising the high pass above the 80hz amp cutoff?
