Default 2 bikes fairing only

Hello all,

I am wanting to do a system upgrade on both my 2019 RG Special and my Wife's 2017 ST Special. Just as a point of reference I have upgraded stereo's in our former 07 and 09 Street Glides by way of just some kenwood Head unit swap outs, a soundstream amps and some Kenwood speakers. Those systems were "ok" they provided some better volume and were functional.

I am looking to do a little better this time around. I want to basically find a set up that I can put in both of the bikes. Neither of us have lowers, and won't and neither of us have speaker lids at this point and unsure if we will or not.

All of that being said I would like to hear your opinions about an amp and fairing speaker set up for these two bikes using the stock head units. Clearly what I am looking for is much louder and clear. We know we won't be winning any competitions with a 2 speaker set up but would at least like maybe a turn of the head from people.

Thanks everyone

Stinger 700 amp with a pair of mmats 601cx speakers is a pretty good 2 speaker setup for the money. You'll need to flash your head unit and or add a bt355 line leveler to flatten the eq curve.

Those speakers will be loud and have good sound.

All in for less than 500.

If ur committed to just the 2 speaker setups then roll with the NVX VADM2, the Mmats 601CX and the BT355 Line Levelers.

I see some of these maps have 2 ohm or 4 ohm options. Which would I use? Will i need some sort of a speaker tray or will it just tuck up in there?

Also haven't looked at the back of the head unit, i am guessing there is no remote wire coming out of the rca pre amp outputs correct?

The amp specs will typically provide info on what watts u can expect with a 2 ohm or 4 ohm load as most of these amps are 2 ohm stable. The load is determined by the speakers.

In the case of an NVX VADM2 and one set of 4 ohm Mmats 601CX speakers ur gonna have a 4 ohm load thus 150 watts per speaker.

Regarding the amp mount, industrial Velcro from Home Depot and stick that sucker on top the head unit / amp tray.

The wiring is beyond simple when using the BT355s. U simply plug the HU wires that are going to your front speakers into the BT355 and the run RCAs from the BT355 to the amp. Cave man proof!!!

Get a motorcycle specific amp wiring kit that is 10awg for the NVX and u will also need a $10 harness from Harley that allows u to again simply plug into an accessory source for your remote turn on.

Very simple install and no need to splice into any OEM wiring. The only thing u will have to do is get 5 feet of good speaker wire and some spades and run from the amp to the MmatsCX.

Oh well damn that's easy. So this setup will work for street glide and road glide then. Have any specifics on that harley harness?

Watch the Rockford install video on YT it's very informative and pretty much how I installed my first iteration of my system.

This harness plug is on the brake side close to the fairing bracket support. Then connect amp remote wire.
