Why did I wait
Why did I wait so long to ditch the stupid T27 Torx bolts in the fairing. I replaced them with 1/4 -20x1/2 Allen head bolts with a flat washer. This makes getting the two lower fairing bolts so easy on a batwing.
Ive swapped alot of factory bolts out to something more manageable
That sounds like a good idea Jack. I'd just be happy to be able to find some new T27 screws at a reasonable price, I have gotten used to them, especially since I have them on two different bikes.
I will mention something that made the two lower screws a lot easier to install though. The last time I had the chrome cover off that goes beneath the headlight I cleaned it front and back and waxed it front an back also. Having that bright shiny surface to look at while trying to put the lower screws in makes it a lot easier to see down there.

I am assuming that you guys are on the 13 and down batwings. The easiest way I have found when removing the fairing is to leave the lower 2 bastard screws installed and tight loosen the 2 upper screws holding the roadlights/turn signal brackets and remove the 2 lower screws placing the assembly on the covered fender. Slightly pry the lower chrome piece over the plastic and the fairing and chrome piece will come off as one.
No more crawling around ,shifting the bars left and right trying to get to those 2 bastard screws.

I've always just used a bit of electrical tape on the T27 driver to hold the screw firmly until I can get a few threads started. Then yank off the tape, and tighten it up. The way out, I've never had an issue grabbing them.
