Theres a powered ignition source in a connector in the upper left of your fairing as youre looking at it from the front. It should be a purple with blue stripe I believe. You can check it with a volt meter to be sure. Harley does make a connector for it to plug in if you choose. Its about $10. Youre going to need a cable kit of some sort to run from your battery up the backbone under your tank to your fairing. Mine was an 8 gauge. Theres a plastic piece to pull off that you can tuck the wiring into.
So while on the Coronavirus lockdown, im still waiting on my amp install kit. Today is a beautiful day to ride so I put my bike back together. Remember in my original post where I stated Im not stupid? I was wrong I am definitely stupid. Once everything was put back together by memory, the fuel gauge and battery gauge were not working. I checked the plug under the seat to make sure it was tight. Then my Check Engine light came on. I took everything apart again. I mustve unplugged something or blew a fuse. Any suggestions?

After going through the fuses and connections for the past day. I found there was a prong inside the speedo housing that was bent from my bumbling. I straightened it out with a pair of needle nose and the gauges are working fine. Thank you to !rock103! From roadglide.org for having the same issue and posting about it.
