Default Question about Ohms

I came across a great deal on MMATS PA601's for $59 each but they are 8 Ohms. I'm running a '22 RGS with a Rockford Fosgate TM400X4AD 4 Channel AMP (Out of my old bike).
Seems like everyone is running 4 Ohm, and I'm reading that you don't want your speakers to be LESS than that, but what about more? Obviously out of my scope...

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Yes, that does appear to be the case, and that said didn't know if they would be best for this application without the tweeters. Perhaps I'd be better off to get the PA601.cx's or the LS65cx's...;

You wouldn’t want to run them without separate horns/tweeters.

The PA601cx would be best if only running 2 speakers

If the impedance of your proposed speakers is exactly double the impedance of the existing speakers, then if/when swapped, your radio will produce exactly half of the volume it did before the swap.
Bottom line is that the system is designed for a particular impedance.
The older Harley audio used 2 Ohm speakers as a means to limit the number of aftermarket replacement options, essentially giving the MOCO another way to control our wallets and their product line.
