I just put the HDHU14.si in my 2017 tri glide. We finished a 3200 mile road trip with it last week. It was flashed with v1.9 when I received it. It worked perfectly for the trip. The only issue I had was with the CP/AA Mirror. It froze my navigation a few times using carplay so I switched to a cord to my phone for the rest of the trip. I have a FP3 too and unplugged it because I wanted the gauges on the head unit. The low fuel warning came up once on our trip. It’s interesting how it counts down the remaining miles. The hand controls work perfectly for changing tracks, volume or moving around the screen to make selections.
I don't want to use a plug for my phone, i want to use the Bluetooth, why have this whole set up if you can't use it. So would you say to not bother getting theCP?AA Mirror?

It looks like there is new firmware for it. Im going to try it next. I really wanted to like it but freezing up on the road is not acceptable. There is a thread about it in the audio section you might want to look at. I contacted RDVFL twice about the problems I was having and Volunteer Audio. VA was the only one who responded.
I have a 2020 SG with a plugged in FP3. I'm thinking of Getting the SI because as of now I have a standard radio and it's a pain. Do I need to unplug my FP3? I don't change my tunes. The gauges are not important for me to use but I do want to use the alerts especially for the low fuel. I will be using android auto to Bluetooth my phone but may also use a USB and or XM radio. Depends, because I live in Southern Arizona. Surrounded by mountains and lose Bluetooth. At this point which toggles can I use to skip tracks and adjust volume. Waiting a half second is not a big deal, I have a Wild boar audio system in the fairing only. I went through this whole post and just watched that last volunteer video. Are there anymore updates since this 2.1? Are there any other concerns I need to be aware of before I make this purchase?
Being around mountains would have nothing to do with losing bluetooth. Signal from your phone to the radio is no more than a foot or two.
Just watched the video & some of what he says is not available on 2014 with a Thundermax just isn't true. I get all of the info I need and more on my Dakota Digital gauges and yes mine is a 2014 SGS with Thundermax tuner.

Also not a lot of towers there. But the signal dropped right out after i got into Bisbee AZ, a town in the valley of mountains. It's a copper mine. I'm telling ya, it dropped
Found out everything I needed to know by basically calling Volunteer Audio. Already have Sirius XM on my phone. The mirror pairing/wireless unit will run the battery down on a long trip. May get one, but don't need it all the time. Did not get the RR2, don't care about using a future radar, I'm not a speed demon. Will have to unplug my FP3 while installing the head unit so I can use the gauges, but they're not a big concern to me. already have car play with my Android 21 Ultra. This unit can't do helmet mic, but no need as I already use a Sena 50s in my full-face helmet. Will be using the alerts for low gas, tire and oil pressure. Will be using the larger EQ, will be using as much of this unit as I can. Getting the HDHU.14si because the standard radio is a pain to go through everything with the buttons and or the toggle while riding. It is a chunk of money, but you get so much more than the Harley unit and for about 800 dollars less. Glad I read the thread of all the issues of when it came out this year, but glad those have since been resolved.
The 2.1 firmware caused my security light to come on when the gauges were being used and threw code U0184h, which never happened with any of the other firmware. Still have to pull the fuse to flash a tune to it despite saying it was fixed. Just flashed the latest 2.2 and we'll see what happens.
