subs are in an entirely different class ,,,, as they are tuned for the low freqs ONLY and generally will not be heard much on the highway ,,,,,,,,,,
the new J&M 5X7" lid speakers on the other hand are full range speakers, that produce almost as much bass response from the saddlebag lid position as the J&M 7.25" ROKKERs ,,,,,,
I tried a pair of 6X9" POLKs the other day in a set of hog-Tunes lids, their Marine series and they were no way near either of the J&M ROKKER XX lid speakers in volume or performance on the highway ,,,, but I do know from my car stereo days that there ARE some very good 6X9" speakers out there ,,,,,,
