Default How to bridge

Hey Ultra I want your opinion on this setup Im wanting to do. Im thinking of going with Soundstream PN4.520D and Kicker 40CS674. Do I use the same install as the writeup you did for '09 ultra with stock HU and Rockford? Im wanting to bridge the amp so I can put more power to front speakers. With that said one will the Kickers be able to handle that much power and two how do I make that bridge and set up the amp? Would the PBR 300x2 be the right amp setup with the rear speakers. Thanks so much in advance

I moved this to your own thread so it can stay on subject for you.

man I wouldn't bridge that amp at all. my experiences in doing so have torn up some of the best speakers out there.

That amp will MORE than adequately drive a pair of 6.5" speakers in the fairing and a pair of rear speakers. With this amp to get the most out of it, I would use 2 ohm speakers to do so, front and rear.

what rear speakers are you looking at?

Sorry for the mix up. If a 2ohm speaker will be better with this amp, what speakers would you recommend that will be loud and clear? Thanks

How well would the Kickers work in front and rear or kickers in front and Infinity kappa 62.11I in rear?

you would be better off with the Infinity speakers up front and the kickers in the rear.

2 ohm speakers are better matched to this particular amp.

Would the PBR300x4 give me better and louder sounds than the soundstream? Still use the same setup with factory hu and rf pbr300x4 except with the soundstream?

you won't be able to use 2 ohm speakers with the PBR300x4. This amp will only drive 4 ohm (and up) speakers.

So here's my suggestion for max power output all the way around.

(2) PBR300x2 amps, 1 for front and 1 for rear.
Both pair of speakers should be of the 2 ohm load.
If you choose to use 4 ohm speakers in the mix, put them in the rear locations. You want as much sound as you can get in your face.

As for what speakers to use, well that's up to your and your particular installation/setup. 2 ohm and 4 ohm speakers should be used to facilitate your install needs. This is why it's a great idea to plan this out before you go off spending $ unnecessarily and or foolishly.

I always tell people, buy the best speakers you can afford to buy for fairing and go from there.
