Default takeing the bags off ?????????????

when you take the bags off to clean the bike do you clean the bags while there off, if so what do you put in the hole that the pins go through. everytime i wash my bags off the water seems to find its way through the hole and gets everything in the bag wet. so what is it you put in the hole or am i the only one that water seems to get in.

I take mine off everytime I clean the bike; impossible to get the wheels properly clean without taking the bags off.

The little bit of water that gets into the bag doesn't bother me, I just wipe the isides dry. But I guess you can place a piece of tape over the hole on the inside which should eliminate the water seepage.

Leave the pins in the holes. Place bags on two, side by side, milk crates. The amount of water you use should only be a flow over the top. The is no need or benefit to using high pressure.

The docking bolts are slotted and self-locking.

I don't wet my bags. I wipe them down with Maguires Leather wipes. Looks new.

I have converted my 02 EG to a chain drive. I always remove my bags when ever I wash the bike due to the oil sling and grime that attaches to it. I also make sure i put a good layer of wax on the inner side of the hard bags that are closest to the bike. I also use a small throw rug to place them on when i clean them to prevent damage from concrete. A little water in the bag does no damage, just wipe it out or plug the holes with some pre-cut dowel rods

I always place my bags on towels that I have designated for the bags to sit on while being clean. I usually do not put alot of pressure on them. The amount of water intrusion is very minimal.
